The new safety device for bikers
The new safety device for bikers
Pre-sales information for professional partners only
In the darkness, cyclists, scooters and cargo bikers are not easy to see when passing or crossing roads.
This causes many and severe accidents with serious injuries for the weaker ones.
Sidewatch solves this problem
by providing cyclists with active side visibility at dusk and at night for the first time.
Passing traffic can see a projection on the road of the minimum distance to the cyclist helping to keep safe distance.
The cyclists are warned on their smartphones as soon as traffic behind them gets too close.
- Reduces the risk of invisibility of cyclists crossing or riding parallel to car traffic.
- Easy to wear on the body or simply attach to a bike, cargo bike or scooter.
- Helps passing traffic to observe the distance rules.
- Simple and intuitive operation for everyone - from school children to recreational cyclists and professional couriers.
How to use Sidewatch
Sidewatch can be attached to business backpacks or trunk bags as a portable device.
If it does not contravene local regulations, it can also be attached to the frame tube of a bicycle or cargo bike.
Functions of Sidewatch
- In the event of an alarm, a flashlight illuminates the biker himself to ensure that motorists who are too close to see the warning lights are made aware of the biker.
- Bright yellow LEDs permanently bring attention to the biker even if the person is out of the light beam.
- A flashing laser projector indicates the required distance between cyclists and passing cars on the ground.
- A rear light draws additional attention of following drivers.
- A laser sensor permanently monitors an area of up to 4m behind and to the side of the biker.
- Any object that enters this safety zone is detected and the yellow alarm LEDs start to flash until it has left the safety zone again.
Bluetooth connection to smart-phone
Sidewatch has an integrated Bluetooth connection that can be used to connect Sidewatch to a smartphone placed in a holder in front of the bike. This function warns the biker if drivers get too close to their bike or trailer.
